VenPongal - Breakfast of champions

In my mom's words...


Pongal-  on a Sunday morning , the irresistible aroma of pongal will make you smile.  The whole day will look beautiful.. 
This savory dish has got that charm.  Fantastic smell is not the only Attraction . There are more plus plus . Nutritious, very light , and  anybody can make this easily .  
Try to follow the steps ...you need only 20 minutes.
The ingredients you need: this is for 2 people.

1 cup rice 
1/2 cup moong dal (lentil)
1 spoon jeera (cumin)
1 spoon kali mirch (pepper)
1 small piece ginger 
10 kadipatha leaves 
1/2 spoon salt 
2 spoons Ghee
5-6 caschew nuts (optional)

Wash rice and moong dal .  Add 3 and 1/2  cups of water . ( use the same cup for measuring rice ,dal and water )
Put salt and half of the ginger (grated) , half spoon pepper, and 1 spoon of ghee in this. Pressure cook . 
Keep a Kadai  or pan on the stove . Add jeera and pepper . Roast it slightly.  Grind  this  into a rough powder. (Coarsely.).
Now put the ghee in the pan , add caschew nuts ,roast it till slight brown. Keep it aside .
Add little ghee or oil in the pan , add jeera-pepper powder, Kadi  patha, and ginger. Then add rice  dal mix from the cooker. 
Switch off the stove. Mix everything well slowly.  Now add the roasted caschew nuts. And a little ghee for aroma.
That’s it . Your pongal is ready. :)
